Of all the Anonymous Houseplant paintings that I made for the Grand Hand show, this one is closest to my heart. It’s the story of the crazy, disaster strewn period so many of us went through in 2020. Some symbolisms: The cat that escapes. A plant that resembles a fire, the pattern of matches of the wall paper, feeble attempts to douse the fire with a watering can, the crimson and magenta exterior that probably holds as much danger as the indoors.
