This one is called 'Rush and Repose' and it’s actually a reincarnation of an older painting. It took me the last 7 months of quarantining to paint this one. 'Rush' was what came before; the chaos and noise of each day and 'Repose' is about slowing down and taking a breath.

The last time I was forced to bring everything to a halt was when I had to go through chemo. Out of that experience was born my 'Anonymous Houseplant' series. This painting is very much a marriage of paintings houseplant and the joy of painting koi- two subjects that allow the most time for reflection.
